Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment Techniques Course

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a non-invasive manual treatment method that aims to improve health in all body systems through procedures such as mobilizations, manipulations and strengthening of the musculoskeletal system. This complementary therapy, based on holistic care, focuses on restoring the body's natural balance and its ability to heal itself.
  • Introductory Module (2 days) Covers ultrasound physics, anatomy and SonoAnatomy, providing a solid foundation.
  • Advanced Upper and Lower Body Modules : (2 days each) Focuses on specific pathologies and imaging reports.
  • Final module : (2 days) It is dedicated to ultrasound-guided invasive techniques, emphasizing the development of practical skills.
Osteopathic practitioners examine and treat dysfunctions using only their hands. They pay special attention to the joints and muscles of the spine, but also treat problems of the peripheral limbs. The treatment optimizes the functions of the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, without the use of devices or drugs. Osteopathy is a growing field in Romania, with increasing recognition as a paramedical discipline.

Basic principles of osteopathy:

  1. Body Unity: The body functions as an integrated whole.
  2. Structure-function relationship: Structural integrity influences functional health and vice versa.
  3. Self-healing: The body has the innate ability to heal itself.
  4. Holistic care: Osteopathy treats the entire body, not just isolated symptoms.

Osteopathic techniques involve gentle pressure, stretching, and resistance, classified into direct and indirect methods.

Conditions treated by osteopathy:

Foot, ankle, hip and knee pain

Arthritis

Mild digestive disorders

Back pain, neck pain and sciatica

Hand, shoulder and elbow pain

Headaches, migraines

Postural problems due to pregnancy

Sports injuries

Neuralgia
